I'm one of 4 Directors of Brainchild Festival: a volunteer-led, DIY festival bringing together young creative minds for a weekend of inspiration. For three days in July, we stitch together the bold and imaginative work of the people around us into a program of live music, jam sessions, spoken word, DJ sets, talks, workshops, film, theatre and installation art. Check out the website for more information about our ethos, events and collaborations. We also run events across the UK through the year, mostly out of our building Platform Southwark

The festival is a meeting of minds; it is very intimate, with artists, crew and festival-goers all camping together and no VIP areas on site. We push important conversations and interdisciplinary art to the forefront and welcome everybody to get involved. Built up by friends of friends over the years, the atmosphere is warm, open and relaxed. Brainchild is the perfect place to let your guard down, try things out and discover amazing artists.
Join the crew! Brainchild is a festival that’s run on the goodwill and hard work of lots of amazing individuals. If you’d like to help us make the weekend happen, then volunteering over the festival is a great way to do it.
We also run events across the UK year-round - Find one near you
Brainchild Festival is completely independent and run on a voluntary basis, giving it many unique strengths. We do this because we love having this weekend together - it’s unlike any other, and we hope you have the best time making new friends, relaxing and discovering all the creative projects people have been working on. We actively want you to bring instruments, sketchbooks, cameras and notepads - at Brainchild you really do not have to be the ones just watching and listening.
