Speaking for 5050 Parliament

It's been a busy few days for 5050 Parliament, with the March4Women organised by Care International and then a panel discussion in the Speaker's House at the Houses of Parliament about how to get better gender representation. It was my pleasure to speak at the former and attend the latter.

At both, we were representing 5050's Ask Her To Stand programme - if you know a woman you think would be a good MP, please recommend her! Studies show women need to be encouraged at least 3 times before they'll see themselves as potential leaders. More at https://5050parliament.co.uk

The 5050 Debate was organised by Jess Phillips MP who is a goddess of a woman.

We heard from Seema Kennedy MP, Harriet Harman MP, Rachel Maclean MP, Jess herself, Tulip Siddiq and new LibDem MP Leyla Moran. They all made wonderful points about the practical obstacles and social limitations holding women back from the top jobs, and conversation was frank, funny and surprisingly intersectional! it was wonderfully inspiring to hear from a bevy such powerful women.
