Mary’s unexpectedly pregnant, despite being in a lesbian relationship. Recriminations ensue - until the Angel Gabriel turns up on their doorstep.

Co-directors KT Roberts and Rhiannon Grace Allen have been collaborators since they first met at Cambridge and discovered their shared love of film. They’re excited and proud to spearhead an all female/LGBT/minority crew for a triple F-rated short film (female writer, directors and leads). I’ll be playing Mary.

This story is simple, funny and powerful. It explores questions that resonate with us all: is anyone ever ready for parenthood? Can we trust our partners? Is there a God preparing to send a second Saviour to fix our mistakes?

Immaculate presents an authentic depiction of a lesbian relationship; examining the exacting standards minority communities often feel they must uphold and making fun of damaging tropes, like being ‘gold star’ (a lesbian who’s never slept with a man). The idea was born from frustrations that lesbian, bisexual and trans stories are often under-served by queer narratives in film. We want to explore female relationships in a funny and empowering way, without sexuality being central, or the ending depressing, in a narrative that resonates with audiences globally.

Our IndieGogo campaign has just launched and we’d love your support..!
