Heartstopper launches into Netflix Top 10

Well, Heartstopper is out and seems to be the talk of the town. As well as dominating Netflix’s Top 10 across multiple countries, it’s touched hearts everywhere, and my inbox is full of queer folks expressing how much it means to them.

To quote one non-binary person;

“I binged the entire thing last night and I truly couldn’t stop crying… thinking about 14 year old me who was so lost and looking for some sort of media representation to guide me through my sexuality and there was just NOTHING? And this show steps through the pain so patiently and lovingly and the friendships are just unbearably beautiful’

I am proud of my small part as a teacher taking care of young trans woman Elle at her new school, and though it’s far from a starring role, I’m already hearing the significance of seeing adults respect and care for young LGBTQIA+ people - having been one myself, I know it too.
